In
1981 Niessing of Germany introduced to the market, a ring that was
to become a design icon. One of their design team Walter Wittek,
had succeeded in forging a platinum ring shank, cutting it open,
pulling it apart and mounting a diamond that remained firm in its
suspended position.
The precisely
measured forces that hold the diamond, which must be of the finest
quality, are concentrated in the two tiny contact points. Energy
flows uninterrupted and the stone lies protected within the circle
of the ring.
